How's it hanging everyone? Did everyone enjoy the weekend?
Yesterday, I played soccer for the first time in about a month.
I played with some friends and now I am proud to say that I am an official soccer player for FC Gangnam.
Basically, I'm playing for a team that has players like me, study abroad students in America.
It was really really fun.
This Geronimo book was interesting in that it had a very deep message.
I hope you can all find out what this deep message is by the time you finish the book.
I saw many of the grammar answers that you all have done.
The answers were...
1. I wish I WERE at home.
The reason why it is were is that were is the subjunctive. It is something that clear hasn't happened and it is conditional, meaning that it hasn't taken place. So, instead of WAS it should be WERE.
2. She is exactLY THE opposite of me.
Exact is an adjective but it cannot modify opposite. One adjective cannot modify another adjective. Therefore, we say exactly the opposite and here, exactly is an adverb, which can modify an adjective.
Well, in a way you can see 'the exact opposite of me' as a noun phrase,
but still it doesn't sound very natural.
So these were the answers and I hope you learned some grammar here.
This grammar will be useful in the future.
Have a fun time with your assignment! Cheers.
