◈ 책 소개

TV에서 방영된 어린이들의 친구 Arthur는 순진하고 성실하며 예의 바른 모범생이죠. Arthur가 주인공인 책이 처음 나온 것은 1976년입니다. 거추장스럽도록 긴 자신의 코를 못마땅하게 생각하는 땅 돼지 Aardvark의 이야기를 듣고 아들에게 이야기를 만들어주면서 모델로 삼았다고 하네요. 시간이 지나면서 코가 점점 짧아져 지금과 같은 모습을 하게 되었답니다.

아이들은 학교와 가정에서의 아서와 친구들의 이야기를 통해 바른 가치관과 판단력을 갖는데 도움을 얻을 뿐 아니라 세상에 대한 이해와 관심을 가질 수 있게 됩니다. 거의 도덕 교과서와 같은 책입니다. 또한 리딩 레벨이 소수점 단위로 세분화되어 있어서 자녀의 독서 레벨을 높이는 데 유용합니다. 초등 2~5학년 정도의 인지능력이 있는 아이들에게 권합니다.
