◈ 책 소개

알파벳을 인지하고 이제 막 읽기를 시작하려는 1단계부터 챕터북 읽기에 재미를 붙인 단계까지 모두 5단계구성으로 되어있으며, 각 단계마다 다양한 소재의 풍부한 읽을 거리를 포함하고 있습니다.

초급단계에서는 아이들에게 친근한 캐릭터(Barbie, Arthur, Disney등) 시리즈가 대다수 포함되어있어 친근감을 형성해 자발적인 독서활동이 되도록 충분한 동기부여를 내포하고 있으며, 단계가 높아짐에 따라 사회(인물/시대적 사건/스포츠), 과학, 수학 영역을 다루는 Nonfiction 스토리의 비중을 높여 읽기 역량을 다져가는 독자에게 읽기능력 배양 뿐 아니라 독서를 통한 지식습득의 역할도 겸하고 있습니다.

대상연령은 스스로 책 읽기 준비가 된 초등학교 저학년입니다. 이 단계의 가장 큰 특징으로는 아이의 읽기를 다져가는 단계로 좀더 다양한 읽을 거리를 위해Nonfiction 스토리가 다수 포함되어있는 부분입니다.

약 400~700개의 단어가 포함되어 있으며, 문장의 길이는 조금 길어졌고, 이야기는 이해하기 쉬운 줄거리로 구성되어 있습니다. 길어진 이야기를 통해 글의 종류, 주인공의 성격 분석과 같은 독서활동도 겸해볼 수 있습니다.
