어린이 영어 학습자를 위한 『Usborne First Reading』 Level 1, 2. 《Usborne Young Reading》보다 낮은 단계인 초급 영어 학습자를 위한 영어 동화를 수록하고 있다. 잘 알려진 동화를 쉽고 간결한 문장의 글에다가, 아름다운 그림으로 제시하여 처음 영어를 접하는 아이들도 재미있게 즐기게 된다. 

특히 32쪽, 150단어로 구성된 Level 1은 부모나 교사의 도움을 조금씩 받으면서 영어 읽기에 도전하는 데 유용하다. 아울러 32쪽, 250단어로 구성된 Level 2는 Level 1보다 높은 스토리라인을 가지고 있다. 박스에 담겨져 있어 정리하는 습관을 기르는 데에도 유용하다.
