Jack과 Annie라는 남매가 집 근처의 책으로 둘러쌓인 나무집을 발견하고서, 책 속의 시간대로 여행을 하는 판타지, 모험 챕터북시리즈입니다.

남매의 첫번째 여행은 공룡이 살고 있는 선사시대의 여행이었습니다. 인류가 처음 지구에 나타났던 시대부터, 중세, 현대 등 시대를 넘나들며 벌이는 여행입니다.

국내에서는 <마법의 시간여행>이라는 제목으로 번역되었습니다.

1992년 1권이 출간된 이후, 전 세계적으로 사랑을 받은 시리즈 중에 하나입니다. 뮤지컬, 애니메이션 등으로도 제작되었습니다. 

국내에서도 큰 사랑을 받았으며, 영어 챕터북을 읽는다면 꼭 한 번은 읽어봐야할 챕터북 시리즈 대명사 중에 한 권이기도 합니다.

1점대 후반에서 2점대 후반으로 레벨이 책정되어, 초등 중학년 정도 되면 도전해보게 되는 시리즈입니다. 

남매의 모험을 통해서 읽기뿐만 아니라, 세계의 역사, 지리 등 다양한 지식도 함께 익힐 수 있어, 학습도서로도 많이 권장됩니다.

Morgan LeFay라는 마법사 할머니의 미션을 수행하며 잭과 애니가 펼치는 모험이야기입니다. 

Morgan LeFay는 4권부터 등장하는데, 1~3권에서는 잭과 애니가 Morgan의 존재를 보지 못했기 때문입니다. 

매직트리하우스 멀린 미션

과거에는 모두 매직트리하우스로 불렸지만, 2017년 매직트리하우스 25주년을 맞아 새로운 표지와 새로운 책 번호가 붙으면서 기존의 29번 부터는 멀린 미션 시리즈로 분류되었습니다.

각 권마다 마법사 멀린에게 받는 퀘스트를 달성하는 모험들로, 멀린 미션이라는 제목이 붙었습니다.

매직트리하우스 29번에었던 Christmas in Camelot이 이제는 매직트리하우스 멀린 미션 1번이 된 것이며, 내용은 동일합니다. 

매직트리하우스를 재미있게 읽었던 독자들이 읽는다면 보다 심화된 잭과 애니의 모험을 즐길 수 있습니다.

매직트리하우스 팩트트랙커

매직트리하우스에서 지식을 확장해주는 책으로,  주인공들이 모험을 하는 시대, 장소에 대한 사실을 알려주는 지식 논픽션 도서입니다. 

매직트리하우스의 주인공인 잭과 애니가 연구원으로 변신해, 시대별로 조사한 내용들을 잘 풀어냅니다. 

실제 사진을 넣어 아이들의 이해를 돕고, 중간에 잭과 애니의 설명을 용어나 부연설명을 해줍니다. 

복잡한 주제의 개념들을 쉽고 간단하게 설명해주어, 아이들이 정말 쉽게 이해할 수 있습니다. 

책의 기술방식에 맞춰 아이들은 원인과 결과에 따른 논리적인 접근 방식을 배울 것입니다. 

또한, 실제 세상은 어떤 곳인지, 역사와 과학 등에 대한 호기심을 불러일으키기에 좋은 시리즈입니다.
