배고픈 할머니가 밥을 해먹으려고 시장에 가서 돼지도 사고 오리도 사고 염소도 사고....
많은 동물들을 샀는데 집에 돌아와보면 어디론가 가버리고 없지요.
그래서 할머니는 참다 못해 꽥 소리를 지릅니다.
이건 원 동물원도 아니고 나는 배고파 죽겠단 말이야. 잉잉~~~
그러자 동물들이 카트에 할머니를 태워 다시 to market to market...
모두모두 힘을 모아 양파, 감자, 마늘, 완두콩, 토마토, 샐러리...
야채들을 잔뜩 사다가 배부르게 먹고는 신나게 쿨쿨.
일단 베란다 유리창에 크게 부직포로 MARKET을 만들었습니다.
위 칸에는 동물들, 아랫칸에는 야채와 과일들을 색칠해서 시트지로 붙여
다닥다닥 시장분위기를 만들었답니다.

그리고는 아이들 장남감 카트와 장난감 유모차로 장을 보았습니다.
그야말로 To Market To Market 이었습니다.
그리고는 아이용 책상에 커다란 pan을 놓아두고는 장본 걸 넣으라고 했어요.
처음에 그냥 불쑥 시장에 가자 하기가 어색한 것 같아서요 대본을 만들었어요.

쇼핑이 끝난 후에 와보니 동물들이 하나도 없네요.
(동물들은 미리 미리 엄마들이 각각의 장소에 다시 붙여 놓았어요.)
찾으러 갈때는 과장된 연기가 필요합니다.

The hen’s in the cupboard.

The trout’s in the bathtub.
I’m hungry, I’m cranky.
Now what will I do?
Don’t worry.
We can make vegetable soup.
Let’ go shopping again.
To market, to market, to buy some vegetables.
Pick them up. Pick up the potatoes.
Put them in the basket.

To Market, To Market 은 전해 내려오는 Nursery Rhyme 을 너저리 라임을 그림책으로
만든 작품입니다..
이 책을 간단히 읽은후 아이랑 시장놀이를 해봤어요..
가게는 야채가게, 신발가게, 옷가게, 문구점..
계속 반복되는 구문을 사용해서 어휘만 바꾸어 주면 되니까
간단한 활동으로 아이도 즐겁게 참여했네요..

아이: Give me two watermelons.
