school bus는 scholastic사의 donald crews작으로 우리아이들의 유치원버스를 연상케합니다.school bus는 for the buses,the riders,and the watchers즉 버스와 아이들 그리고 이를 지켜보는이들을 중심으로 이야기는 펼쳐집니다.책전체가 노란 학교 버스로 구성되어있어 특히 자동차를 좋아하는 아이에게 무척 흥미로울 것입니다.
D.C는 노란학교버스를 통해 일상속에 무심코 지나쳐버리는 작은것에 세상읽기를 가르쳐 줍니다.학교버스는 아이들의 하루를 열어주면서 복잡한 시내 도로에 들어서면 마치 무언의 규칙을 가르치듯 가다서다를 반복합니다.그리고 노란색으로 경종을 울리듯 무사히 학교에서 또 집으로 아이들을 실어 나릅니다.
다양한 기법으로 노란학교버스는 앞면,뒷면,옆면,측면까지 소홀할수 밖에없는 버스의 다양한 모양새를 보여줍니다.큰버스와 작은 버스 또 오가는 버스들..책 한권으로 버스의 전면을 볼수 있고 어쩌면 주인공이라 할수 있는 버스의 일상을 한눈에 볼수 있어 좋습니다 .내용면에서도 간단하지만 상황에 너무나 잘맞는 적절한 표현으로 쉽게 아이와 놀아줄수 있는 책인것 같습니다. 이책을 보면서 아이와 다시금 아이가 타는 스쿨버스에 대해 또 가장 가까이 있으면서도 별 관심을 두지 못하는 우리 주위의 것들이 우리에게 얼마나소중한것인가를 한번더 생각하게 합니다.
1.내용읽기와 아이와 이야기하기.
