Inviting a Friend to a Party
Inviting a Friend to a Party
Kevin: Do you have time this Saturday?
Susan: Sure. Why?
Kevin: I want to invite you to a party at my new place.
Susan: Your new place? You don? live in New Jersey any more?
Kevin: No. My parents wanted me to go to school in New York. And I also wanted to study art in New York.
Susan: Good for you! Do you have nice neighbors?
Kevin: They¡¯re okay. But I miss my friends in New Jersey.
Susan: You can write them e-mail and visit them sometimes.
Kevin: Right. So, I will see you at the party this Saturday.
Susan: Okay. See you.
Talk on the School Bus
Amy: Good morning, Jack. You look very tired.
Jack: I am. I could not sleep at all last night.
Amy: Why not?
Jack: My neighbor¡¯s dog wouldn¡¯t stop barking.
Amy: Oh. That¡¯s terrible.
Jack: What was worse, when I got in the shower this morning, there wasn¡¯t any hot water.
Amy: Oh, no!
Jack: Oh, yes. I had a terrible morning.
