Should Scientists Develop Weapons?

Many scientists develop weapons. As mankind went through different wars, new advanced weapons were used. Developing weapons has both good and bad things. Should scientists continue developing new weapons? Here is a talk about this issue.

Kyung-hee: Did you see the movie ¡®Iron Man?¡¯ The Iron Man suit is really nice. You can become powerful. You can fight so well. I hope scientists can develop the Iron Man suit soon.

Sang-jin: If the Iron Man suit is used in war, many people would get killed. Many things would be destroyed. That is horrible. Scientists should stop developing new weapons.

Sung-shik: But many things that we use today came from what scientists studied to develop new weapons. Let¡¯s see... Computers, GPS, and many other things were originally developed for military use.

Min-ho: I agree. Developing weapons can help advance new technologies that can make our life more comfortable.

Sang-jin: New technologies can be developed by studying other fields of science. Developing weapons can only make wars more miserable.
