This is BlueBear.

BlueBear lives in a cozy little cottage in the woods near a hill, not far from the sea.

It was Spring. BlueBear decided it was time to dig a garden and plant his tomato plants. He went to the hill with his shovel and dug his garden.

Very carefully, BlueBear planted each little tomato plant in his new garden

All Summer long, he took care to weed the garden and water the plants.

Some days he would sit by the garden, sip his lemonade and look out to sea.

Finally, near the end of Summer, the tomatos were fat and red and ready to pick.

BlueBear picked a big basketful and took them into his little cottage. He thought, "Mmmm, now that I have tomatos I think it''''s time to bake bread!" So he went to his kitchen and got a big mixing bowl.

He kneaded the dough. He put it in a bread pan and put the bread pan in the oven. Then BlueBear went out back to rest and read in the sun while the bread baked.

When he took the hot bread out of the oven to cool the whole house filled with a wonderful smell.

Later, when the bread had cooled, he sliced it up. Then he sliced up the tomatos and made a big sandwich.

"Mmmmm," said BlueBear, "my own home-made bread and my own home-grown tomatos make a lovely sandwich!" What a nice picnic.
