아이와 함께 영어동화의 세계로-Papa, please get the moon for me.
안녕하세요?
에릭칼의 너무도 유명한 책이죠.
모니카의 부탁으로 아빠는 하늘에 닿기 위해 긴 사다리를 준비해서 달까지 올라가지만 보름달이라 너무 커서 가져 올 수 없어서 ....
(줄거리를 주욱 써나가면 사족이 되겠죠?)
시간의 흐름에 따라 달의 모양이 바뀌는 자연 현상을 아이의 시각에서 잘 표현한 작품으로 아빠의 딸에 대한 사랑이 듬뿍 담겨있는 책 정도로 요약하고요.
입체북입니다. 에릭 칼다운 정말 기발한 아이디어가 돋보이구요.
하루 날 잡아 큰아이, 둘째아이 총동원되서 밤하늘을 그려보았어요.
종이 크기가 전지쯤 되었으니까 좀 컸죠. 손이랑 발, 방바닥 모두 엉망될걸 감수하며 신나게 물감을 칠할 수 있도록 해주고, 물도 뚝 뚝 여기 저기 떨어뜨려서 색이 번지는 현상을 눈으로 보게 해주었어요. 감자랑 오이로 대충 별모양을 만들어 물감찍기를 했는데 두 녀석 모두 정말 좋아하구요! 신기해 하구요...ㅋㅋ
색종이로 별을 오려 붙이기도 하구요.
어느정도 밤 분위기가 나올 즈음, 부직포로 만든 사다리랑, 여러모양의 달을 짜짠~ 등장시켜 줄거리대로 얘기해 주었어요.
여기서 포인트는요,사다리길이와 달님의 모양에 있어요.
점점 길어지는 사다리, 점점 커지는 달, 작아지는 달.
long-short/ big-small 의 개념을 심어주는데 딱(!)이여요. 24개월된 둘째는 요즘 크-다/작다. 기-일다/짧다.등의 반대 개념에 심취(?)해 있어서 호응 100점!
최대한 오버하시는거, 또 리드미컬한 목소리!

Why dont't you listen to the story of a girl who likes a moon?
This story is written by Eric Carle.
Before listening, please look at the picture that you painted.
What can you see in the sky?
Stars, a moon,...
Yeah, right. Stars are twinkling, and the moon is looking at us.
Please look down here.
You can meet a girl, and she is in the house with her father.
Her name is Monica.
Every night, she thought, "I wish I could play with the moon."
No matter how much she streched, she could not touch the moon.
So, she asked her father,"papa, please get the moon for me."
Papa got a very long ladder. (여기서 부직포 사다리를 한 마디씩 펴서 점점 길어지는 모습을 보여주지요. 그리고 나무젖가락을 붙여 만든 아빠인형 손에 사다리를 붙여 산으로 올라가는 시늉을 합니다.)
He carried it to the top of the high mountain. (둘째를 위해 High 를 무쟈게 강조하고요)
Then he climbed up up up to the moon.
But it's too big to take the moon.
Uh-h, What's wrong with the moon?
Look! The moon got smaller, smaller, and smaller, and it was just the right size to take. (큰 보름달 뒤에 작은 달을 여러개 찍찍이로 미리 붙여 놓았다가
하나씩 떼어 보여줍니다.)
After he climbed down to the ground, papa said to Monica, "Here you are. This is the moon for you."
Monica was very happy. So she jumped up and down, hugged it and threw it into the air.
Can you notice the fact that the moon get smaller than before?
Oh, no!
It disappeared altogether.
Monica looks so sad. Maybe she wants to play with thw moon again.
Then, one night she saw the thin silver moon.
Each night the moon grew and grew and grew.
At last it became a very big full moon.
Please say "Good bye" to the moon.
