내용이.. 좀... 충격적입니다. ^^;;
제가 가입한 다음 까페에서 퍼온 글입니다.
(거의 조선일보 수준의 막말이 튀어나오는군요..)

Editorial: An unwelcome guest
전 대만 총통인 이쳉후이에 의해서 불순인물로 낙인이 찍힌 남한의 전
대통령인 김영삼은 첸수이비안 정부의 초청으로 수요일 5일간의 방문예정으로
대만에 도착하기로 예정되어있는데 이 소식이 알려지자 언론계와
학계의 많은 사람들이 "왜 오는데" 라며 놀라움을 표시했다.
Former South Korean president Kim Young-sam, who was blacklisted by former
president Lee Teng-hui (??쏴), will arrive in Taiwan on Wednesday for a
five-day visit at the invitation of the Chen Shui-bian (날ㆄン)
administration. When this information became known, it startled many in
the media and academia, who asked, "what is he coming for?"
김씨의 멍청함이 아니었으면 남한은 1997년 7월에 시작된 심각한 금융위기를
겪지 않았을것이고, 그것으로 인해 남한국민들의 전재산의 반이상을 잃게만드는
일도 없었을것이다. 김씨는 원칙이라고는 없는 정치인이며, 고등학교시절부터
대통령직에 목을 멘것으로 잘 알려져있다. 그가 일으킨 재앙은, 그에 앞서
대통령직을 거쳐간 군부독재자들의 피의 재앙보다 결코 작다고 할수가
없는것이었다.
If it weren't for Kim's incompetence, South Korea would not have suffered
the serious financial crisis that struck in July 1997 and cost the country
and its people over half of their assets. Kim is an unscrupulous
politician who became obsessed with the presidency while still in high
school. The disasters he brought upon the country were no less than those
wrought by the bloody-handed military dictators that preceded him.
그는 또 다음과 같은 일화로 유명한데, 매일아침 조깅을 하는 그의 습관이
육체적으로는 건강하지만 단순한 대통령으로 인식받을까 두렵다는 측근들의
얘기를 듣고 "건강한 몸이 머리보다 더 중요하다. 머리는 빌릴수있지만
몸은 빌릴수없다." 라고 대답했다고..
The quote from Kim that left the deepest impression on the people of South
Korea was spoken when some people voiced concern that his habit of a
morning jog might lead people to believe he was an "able-bodied but
simple-minded president." He replied, "a healthy body is more important
than a brain. Other people's brains can be borrowed, but health can't be
borrowed."
그러나.. 한국전쟁이후 남한에 가장 큰 재앙이었던 1997년의 금융위기이후
남한의 국민들은 그가 다른사람의 머리를 빌릴만한 머리도 없는 천치(idiot)
였으며 남한의 50년의 헌정역사상 가장 멍청한 대통령이었다는것을
발견하게 되었다.
But after the 1997 financial crisis became the greatest disaster for the
nation since the Korean War, South Koreans discovered that he was an idiot
without even the brains to borrow the brains of others and the most
incompetent president they had had in half a century.
하여간.. 김씨가 이번엔 초청된 목적은 무엇인가? 금융위기로부터
탈출하는법을 배우기위해서 왔을까? 김씨에게 그것을 가르쳐줄수있는
사람은 전임 리총통 이겠지만, 리총통은 절대로 가르쳐주지 않을것이다.
(1992년말, 리총통은 김씨가 대통령에 당선되는것을 도와줬지만 김씨는
그것에 대해서 입을 씻은 전력이 있다.)
So why has Kim has been invited? Could it be that he is coming here to
learn how to rescue an economy from financial crisis? The only person with
the qualifications to teach him is Lee, but Lee would never be willing to
do so. (In late 1992, Lee was instrumental in helping Kim to get elected,
but Kim was ungrateful for the help.)
김씨는 타이페이와 서울간의 직항로의 재개설문제에 대해서 중재자로서 왔다고
한다. 하지만.. 김대중정부가 그것을 허락한것인지도 의문스러울뿐만 아니라
만약 대만정부가 그런 협상을 하길원한다면 대화의 상대는 김씨가 아니고
남한의 현 정부이어야 한다.
Kim says that he wants to come to act as a mediator between Taipei and
Seoul on the issue of resuming direct air links. But it's doubtful whether
the Kim Dae-jung administration would authorize him to engage in such
discussions. If the Chen administration wants to hold talks, they need to
talk with the current administration.
현대 대만과 남한간의 널려있는 이슈들을 볼때, 무역적자의 문제가
직항로의 개설보다는 더 심각하다고 할수있다. (대만의 대남한 무역적자가
작년기준으로 미화 $6billion에 달했다.) 남한은, 이제 일본다음으로 가장큰
무역적자 상대국이 된것이다. 그러나, 김씨의 방문과 관련해 이문제가
거론되리란 얘기는 그동안 전혀 없었다.
Looking at the outstanding issues between Taiwan and South Korea, the
trade deficit -- which reached US$6 billion last year -- is more pressing
than aviation links. South Korea is now second only to Japan in size of
its trade deficit with Taiwan. However, not a single Taiwan government
official has been heard raising this problem in connection with Kim's
visit.
현재의 좋지않은 경제상황을 볼때, 현정부는 방관만 할것이 아니라 남한정부와
문제해결에 나서야 한다. 혹시라도.. 현 첸정부가 대만의 경제를 망치기위해서
김씨를 초대한것이 아니라면 말이다.
Given its deteriorating economic situation, can the Taiwan government
still continue to wink at the growing trade deficit and not request that
South Korea try to settle the problem? Could it be that the Chen
administration has invited Kim so that he can teach us how to ruin the
economy?
또하나의 문제는.. 정부가 김씨를 초청하는데에 있어서 얼마나 많은 돈을
지불했나 하는것이다. 김씨는 돈을 주고 초청할만한 가치가 없을뿐만 아니라,
특히나 데쳐수상이나 부시, 고르바쵸프 같은 전임 국가수반들과 비교해서는
더욱 그러하다. 만약에.. 이번 김씨의 초청을 위해 정부가 많은 돈을 지불했다면
현정부의 정치적 판단력이나 외교적 능력이 의심스러울 뿐이다.
Another question is whether or not Kim is like other former heads of state
who accept invitations from prominent business or academic institutions to
visit Taiwan in order to line their own pockets. He doesn't have the
stature to do so, especially compared to former leaders such as Margaret
Thatcher, George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev. If a large sum of money was
used to entice him to visit, then the political judgement and
international outlook of the Presidential Office leaves us shaking our
heads all the more.
김씨는 대만에 올때에, 그의 멍청함과 그의 국정실패에 관해서 놀림을 받을
준비를 하고오는것이 좋을것이다. 하지만.. 그 누가 감히 이런 새대가리 인간이
그런것조차도 이해하고있을것이라고 말할수있을것인가..?
Kim should come to Taiwan prepared to be mocked for his incompetence and
mismanagement of national affairs. But who dares hope that this kind of
brainless klutz will know himself well enough to understand?
