112 Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and should spend most of their time on school studies. Others believe that young children should spend most of their time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with? Why?

 In these days, early education fever is spreading all over the country Korea. where I live in. I can easily see it from the numbers of institutes that are teaching subjects like english, math and even several sports to children. Maybe it's because of decreasing birthrate, and parents are now more concerned with raising children. However, I strongly disagree with this trend for several reasons below.

 To begin with, children easily get tired of repeated learning. I once heard about a theory telling us that children at about 5 to 8 age, have the highest curiosity and are most sensitive to the environment. But then, forcing children to school and pouring bunch of knowledges to these young guys? Is this the right situation? I definitely want to say 'No.'. Moreover, this young aged children's mind and body won't be ready for numbers of subjects that school wants to 'inject' into. It will be just same as an old saying, 'pouring water into a bottomless pot.'.

 In addition, playing helps children to enhance their sociality. Let's think of children playing soccer which is a team sport or playing hide and seek. This 'group' play helps them to meet new people and make new friends. While playing, they may fight each others, and of course reconcile and learn to know the way how to reach an agreement. This whole proceed, is not an artificial thing that someone intentionally controls behind. It is just natural outcomes during playing. The group activities at the early age may be the first means to give them experience the small society.

 Needless to say, everyone knows that the young children's education comes first of all. Of course, learning various subjects through formal education at the early age can give advantages such as knowing their special abilities or favors. But on the other hand, considering of children's physical and mental status, it can cause many side effects. Whereas, playing naturally develops children's sociality and also it's active movements will make them more healthy too. So children, please go out and play!
