Chapter 6 엠마, 패트릭에게 빠지다.
Emma Falls for Patrick.
The Bollenbecker party pulls up to a temple in a limo. A crowed dressed in colorful Indian garb is waiting outside for a ceremony to begin. They cheer, yell, and throw flowers pedals as the guest of honor approaches in a beautifully adorned horse and carriage. Emma steps out of the limo and stares at the crowed in amazement.
Patrick kisses Sunny on the cheek and compliments her.
PATRICK : You look beautiful. Old man! Nice crowd for your Upanayana, man.
The Bollenbecker party makes its way up the stairs and into the temple. They all look amazed and pleased.
DEEP : Not bad.
Patrick and Ajay discuss the guests that Patrick invited.
AJAY : What’s with all the white people?
PATRICK : Party crashed.
AJAY : Even that one?
PATRICK : No, that one’s for me.
Sunny attaches a jewel to Emma’s forehead and welcomes her.
SUNNY : Welcome, Emma.
PATRICK : Get up there.
Everyone begins to slowly make their way into the temple.
볼렌베커 일행은 리무진을 타고 사원에 도착한다. 화려한 인도 전통 의상을 입은 사람들이 기다리고 있다. 그들은 아름답게 장식한 말과 수레를 타고 온 손님들에게 꽃을 뿌리며 반갑게 맞이한다. 엠마가 리무진에서 내려 흥분을 감추지 못하며 모인 사람들을 바라본다. 패트릭이 서니의 뺨에 키스하며 찬사를 보낸다.
패트릭 : 아주 예쁘세요. 친구! 성인식이 정말 굉장하군.
불렌베커 일행이 사원으로 들어간다. 모두들 즐거움에 들떠 있다.
딥 : 그렇지?
패트릭과 에이제이가 패트릭이 초대한 손님들에 대해 이야기를 나눈다.
에이제이 : 저 백인들 다 뭐예요?
패트릭 : 파티 불청객들.
에이제이 : 저 사람도?
패트릭 : 아니, 그 쪽은 내 손님.
서니가 엠마의 이마에 보석 장식을 붙여주며 환영한다.
서니 : 어서오세요, 엠마.
패트릭 : 이쪽으로 와요.
모인 사람들이 천천히 사원 안으로 들어간다.
