Tom: I am so worried about the math test tomorrow.
Jeff: Why? You¡¯ve been doing very well in math class.
Tom: Hmm. My grandfather passed away recently. So I was absent because I had to go to the funeral for about a week.
Jeff: Oh, I¡¯m sorry.
Tom: I¡¯m okay now, but I missed so many classes.

David: Hi. I¡¯m here to offer my used books for sale.
Clerk: Okay, let me take a look at them.
David: I¡¯ve got three books here. They are almost brand-new. I barely even opened them. See? They are very clean. So how much can I get for these books?
Clerk: We buy books back at 20 percent of their original price.
David: Twenty percent? That¡¯s too low.
