A Lark Burying Her Father
According to an ancient legend, a lark was created before the earth appeared. So, the lark had to fly all the time with her father. Sometimes, the young lark became very tired.
One day, the young lark’s father died. The lark cried. “Oh, no. Father! Don’t leave me alone.”
The lark looked for a place to bury her father. But she could not find any. So, she carried her father always.
Not knowing where to bury her own father, she decided to bury him in her own head.
From then, she obtained a crest over her head. Now, people say this is why a lark’s head looks like a crest.
