-.초5 손자가 지난 1월 5일 harry potter원서 1권부터 시작하여 5월 6일 현재 7권 끝부분 읽는 중으로 다음 주에 읽기가 모두 끝나게 됩니다...harry potter 7권 모두를 독서하는데 무려 4개월 기간이 소요되는 것입니다.
-.아이는 harry potter원서를 읽고, 나는 그 옆에서 한글번역본을 읽습니다...chapter별로 읽고 아이가 줄거리를 설명하는 과정을 거칩니다. 즉 나름대로 정독에 가까운 방법의 독서였습니다.
-.1개 chapter를 읽고 줄거리를 설명하는 데까지 40분이면 여유가 있습니다. 결코 느린 속도는 아니라고 봅니다...방학기간에는 하루에 4회 즉 4개 chapter를, 평일에는 2개 chapter를 독서하였습니다.
-.6,000개 이상의 단어를 암기한 상태에서 harry potter원서 독서를 시작하였습니다. 이곳에서 처음 접하는 단어는 앞, 뒤 문장으로 뜻을 추정하며 읽어가는 방법을 택하였습니다. 다만 처음 접하는 단어이더라도 되풀이 출현하는 단어는 함께 모아서 사전을 찾아 익히기도 하였습니다...그러나 단어 암기에 별 노력을 하지 않았습니다.
-.하루의 지정된 영어공부시간을 활용하였습니다...요즘 평일의 영어공부 상태입니다.
1).아침 등교 전 1회(1회는 40분 정도) : 이 시간엔 중3 교과서 tape듣고 받아쓰기 시간입니다. 받아쓰면서 스페링이 틀린 경우엔 그 단어를 추가로 2, 3회 쓰면서 복습하기도 하였습니다. dictation과 shadowing에 충실하고 있습니다. 결과적으로 중 2,3 학년 교과서 모든 문장을 tape들으며 정확히 받아쓰는 수준입니다.
2).오후와 저녁시간의 2회 영어공부시간 모두를 harry potter 독서 시간으로 활용하였습니다.
-.harry potter원서 독서가 끝난 후부터 하루 2회 영어공부시간은 한 동안 독서를 지속할 계획입니다...후속타로 어떤 책을 읽는 것이 적절하고, 효과적일지 궁금합니다....harry potter를 무척 재미있게 즐겼습니다....harry potter원서 다음에 읽을 수 있는 수준의 책 정보 좀 주십시오.
-.우선 당분간 내가 이용하는 3개 도서관에 비치된 영어소설 모두를 읽도록 할 생각입니다.
