이 글은 mh science를 기초로 한 동물에 관한 표현들입니다.
원어로 동물 다큐멘터리를 보면서 다 이해한다는 건 상당한 실력이라고
생각 됩니다.
기초적인 용어들 뿐 아니라 전문 용어들이 나오기 때문입니다.
이 자료는 교과서에 나온 것이므로 실제 사용되는 것이고
grade 5,6 에 있는 자료이므로 초등학교 5,6학년들에겐 다소 어려울 수 있으나
다큐멘터리를 많이 보신 분들이라면 필요할 거라 판단해 이렇게 올리겠습니다.
animal kingdom 동물 왕국
phyla without backbone (s. phylum (생물) 문. (생물 분류의 1단계))
: 뼈없는 동물
ex) sponges, flatworms, sea anemones, crustaceans
(발음 표기가 어려우므로 우리말로 비슷하게 쓰겠습니다.

tissue : Similar cells that have the same job or function come together to
make a tissue.
organ : Tissues of different kinds come together to make an organ, like
a heart or brain.
system : A group of organs that work together to do a certain job makes
up an organ system. (like a bat's digestive system includes its
mouth, stomach, and intestines.)

ex) lamprey, shark, reef sting ray, tropical fish, frog, turtle, crocodile,
snake, frigate bird, ostrich, whale, shrew...
invertebrates [인- ] 무척추 동물
ex) sponge, marine flatworm, planarian, sea anemone, hydra,
hookworm, earthworm, octopus, tree snail, grasshopper, lobster,
spider, starfish...
life cycle : 생활 주기(이게 사전에 나온 겁니다) (인생 살이)
ex) Frogs lay eggs in ponds and lakes.
The eggs hatch into tadpoles.
They must live in water because they have gills, like fish, not lungs.
The tadpoles begin to change. They grow legs.
Their tails disappear. They develop lungs and lose their gills.
Now they can live on land and in the water!
Butterfly : egg, larva, pupa, adult butterfly
Grasshopper : egg, nymph, adult grasshopper
animal adaptations : 동물 적응
environment : 환경
mimicry [미미크리] : 흉내, 모방, (생물) 의태
ex) The dark "thorn" on the branch is a thornbug. (그림을 못 올리므로
가시나무의 가시와 비슷한 가시 가 있다고 생각하시면 됩니다)
Because thornbugs look like thorns that can scratch, predators
stay away. (프레데러: 포식자(많이 나옵니다))
camouflage [캐물플라주] : 변장, 위장 (protective coloration[퍼텍티브(프로
텍티브로 읽지 마시길...)])
ex) Leaf butterflies look so much like leaves that a bird looking for
a meal will fly right by.
너무 길어졌네요.
