영어 독후감 쓰기가 있어 저희아이가 몇일전에 Classic starts 시리즈중의 Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm을 읽고 쓴 독후감을 올려 봅니다.
저희딸은 2학년이고 책읽기를 무지 좋아하는 엄마맘에 꼭 드는~~ 딸이랍니다.
이번 방학동안은 그동안 읽던 책들은 잠깐 접어두고 축약본 클래식을 읽기로 약속하였답니다. Classic Starts 시리즈 하루에 한권 읽고 그 다음날은 독후감 쓰기를 하고, 독후감에 대해 저와 함께 이야기하며(물론 우리나라 말로요.) 독후감 수정하고.. 이런씩으로 벌써 10권이나 읽었네요.
그중 가장 최근에 읽은 책의 북리뷰를 올립니다. 나름대로 자신의 생각을 많이 정리하여 쓴것 같아서요.
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm
Have you ever read the book, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm? I have just recently read it. It is about a girl named Rebecca who goes to her aunt’s house and learns how to behave herself. Rebecca and her aunt, Miranda, both learn a great lesson in this story.
Rebecca has seven younger siblings and one older sister. After their dad passes away, Rebecca’s mom has trouble taking care of all her children. So one day, Rebecca’s aunts, Jane and Miranda, send a note saying they can take care of Hannah, Rebecca’s older sister. But, Hannah has to stay and help her mom, so Rebecca goes instead.
On the way to her aunt’s house, Rebecca jumps from one seat in the wagon to another, because the wagon goes through a bumpy road. When she arrives, her Aunt Jane is happy to see her, but Aunt Miranda, is very unhappy because she knows that Rebecca can be active and wild. So, Aunt Miranda gives Rebecca strict rules to follow as soon as Rebecca arrives.
One day, when Rebecca is going to her first school play, she gets so excited that she forgets about her aunt’s rules. She rushes outside and runs to her school for the play. When she comes back home, Aunt Miranda is furious. Rebecca realizes that she had left the front door open and the screen door unlocked so the flies had gotten inside the house. Rebecca had also left her dish on the table instead of in the sink. Rebecca gets scolded for failing to follow Aunt Miranda’s rules. Aunt Miranda also tells Rebecca that her father was a stubborn man and Rebecca was exactly like him. She then sends Rebecca to her room.
That night, Rebecca thinks about the things she has done that day. She knows her mistakes and feels ashamed of herself. So, she decides to throw her perusal into the well as a punishment. However, the next morning, Rebecca finds out that her perusal has blocked the well! Aunt Miranda grows furious again and almost screams her head off. To make up for mistakes, Rebecca works very hard on her chores and follows Aunt Miranda’s rules. When Aunt Miranda sees Rebecca’s effort, Aunt Miranda also realizes that her shouting probably scared Rebecca and made it more difficult to behave well. So, Aunt Miranda decides to be more patient with Rebecca and acts more nicely to her.
Through these experiences, Rebecca learns to be more mindful of her actions and Aunt Miranda learns to be more patient and understanding. I had so much fun reading Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm because there were lots of conflicts and resolutions in this story. From now on, I will try to be more understanding like Aunt Miranda and think things through like Rebecca.

책읽기 좋아하고 2학년이 이렇게 독후감도 잘쓰니
정말 엄마맘에 쏙 들수 밖에 없네요.^^
문장들이 문법적으로는 말할 것도 없고
어휘력이 무척 풍부하고 표현들이 native아이의 글처럼 자연스러우면서도 훌륭한 것 같아요.
pass away라든지 grow furious 등등의 표현들로 보아
아이가 얼마나 영어책을 많이 읽고 즐겨 읽었는지 짐작이 되네요.
좋은 문장의 영어책을 많이 골라주어야겠다는 생각이 들어요.
