A Man and His Daughters
Long time ago, a man had two daughters. One of his daughters married to a gardener and the other one to a tile maker.
One day, the man went to the daughter who married to a gardener. The man asked, ¡°My daughter, how are all things going with you?¡± His daughter replied, ¡°All things are good. But I have only one wish. I wish that there may be a heavy fall of rain. My plants must be watered.¡± The man said, ¡°I will pray for you.¡±
Not long after, he went to the daughter who married to a tile maker. The man asked, ¡°My daughter, how are you? Is everything okay?¡± His daughter answered, ¡°Yes. But I just wish that the dry weather may continue so that the bricks and tiles may be dried.¡±
Hearing this, the man said to her. ¡°Your sister wishes for rain and you wish for dry weather! Which wish should I pray for?¡±
You can¡¯t please everybody.
