Encyclopedia Brown #7 Saves the Day

 

1. What was the lie that Bugs made in the Case of Electric clock? Why does this has to be a lie?

Bugs’s lie was claiming that he heard the clock ticking when he passed.

This had to be a lie because electric clocks don’t tick.

 2. In the Case of Bird Watcher, how does Bug try to make Encyclopedia get in trouble? Why does he fail?

Bugs tried to make officer Rand think that Encyclopedia let the air of Mr. Dunning’s truck tires.

But Bugs said he walked toward the ocean at sunrise, watching the birds along the river.

But the Dade river ran due east to the ocean.

If he was a real bird watcher, he would never had walked east early in the morning.

A real bird watcher walks west in the morning to get the Sun’s full light falling on the birds..

 3. In the Case of Bound Camper, what is the major clue and why?

The major due was the coffee pot.

Mr. Evans claimed he had put the pot of coffee over the fire until he returned with Encyclopedia, ore than forty minutes passed.

So after 40 minutes on the fire, so much water have boiled away that none could have boiled over the top.

But it boiled when Encyclopedia saw the coffee pot.

4 . What was wrong about the seat in the Case of Junk Sculptor? Why?

Pablo claimed that he had been sitting in the chair all morning.

If Pablo had been sitting in the chair all morning the seat would have been warm.

But the seat was cool.

5. In Case of Flying Boy, how does Encyclopedia find out the truth after looking at the window?

Buck said he had taken off by jumping through the attic window.

He said once he was through the window, he flew straight to the woods.

That meant he had not come back to the window.

Bit when the he showed the window to Encyclopedia, the window was closed
