Greetings from North Carolina,

     Our schoolyear in North Carolina finishes in June.  So I am now on my summer break. After school ends,  I like to go to the library and check out a bigstack of books to read.  I checked out the Syd Hoff books to makeworksheets for you.  And I will read the books to my grandchildren. It is so hot here, that we like to stay inside during the day and read.

   Syd Hoff liked to writeabout animals.  Chester is a story about a horse looking forsomeone who wants him.  Read about Chester and his adventures.  Whileyou read look at the pattern of the words.  In English we use the words¡°a¡± or ¡°the¡± before things.  ¡°A¡± always means one of something. ¡°The¡± can be used before one or more things.  Look for the littlewords ¡°a¡± and ¡°the¡± in Chester.   Enjoy reading Chester!
