Christmas is a special day for most of the people. It is a holiday in many countries, including Korea. But there are also people who think why Christmas should be a holiday and a day to celebrate in Korea. Take a look at a talk here and think about it.
Julia: Hey, Christmas is just one month away. I am getting excited. Do you have any special plans for Christmas?
Romeo: No, I don¡¯t like Christmas. I often think why we celebrate Christmas. As you know, Korea is not a Christian country. It is not even the day when Jesus Christ was born.
Benvolio: But Christmas is not just for Christians. It is a special day to think about the people we love, like our families and friends.
Mercutio: Right. We can have a good time with our families and friends, sharing delicious food together. That¡¯s the best thing about Christmas.
Romeo: But many people spend much money buying gifts. Some children feel sad if they can¡¯t get presents. I don¡¯t really think Christmas should remain a holiday in Korea. Instead, I think it is better to have other ¡°Days¡± such as ¡°Hangeul Day¡± as national holiday for Koreans.
Julia: You have a point. But still, I believe Christmas is an important day for all people around the world. Let us all think about its true meaning and have a good time together this Christmas, my friends!
