2. Living things need food, water, gases and space. Picture a situation in which one of those are missing or insufficient.
If the environment is crowed, and so has little space, the animals in there would have to compete to get enough food.

4. Why is carbon dioxide not on the list of gases that animals need?
Plants need carbon dioxide to change sunlight and water into food. Animals don't do that. So carbon dioxide is not as essential to them as it is to plants
