Liberal Arts를 풀어 보면 중세 영어에선 라틴어로 trivium 과 quadrivium의 의미를 담고 있습니다.
1. Academic disciplines, such as languages, literature, history, philosophy, mathematics, and science, that provide information of general cultural concern
2. Trivium: The lower division of the seven liberal arts in medieval schools, consisting of grammar, logic, and rhetoric.
3. Quadrivium:The higher division of the seven liberal arts in the Middle Ages, composed of geometry, astronomy, arithmetic, and music.
