A1. The lemon acts as a electrolyte. It contains free ions in the juice, so it is a good enough electrolyte.
A2. Solar energy is comparatively safe and environmental. Unlike fire based energy, it doesn't create air pollution. It is not dangerous like radioactive energy. Yet, it has a picky energy source. The Sun doesn't want to come out in the night and even in the day, it has a tendency to hide behind clouds. So, although I'm for using solar energy, I wouldn't make solar cell based energy the only way to get energy
