My Answer 1 :
My best friend is kind of like Dmitry and kind of like Alyosha. She used to be into music. She played the cello really well. But one day, she quit. It hadn't really been what she wanted. In this sense, she is like Dmitry. When the passion dies down, she's just
normal. She is also like Alyosha because she can always be there for me. We don't force our political or religious views
on eachother. It's easy to talk to her. Of course, I do have friends who share my interest in science but they are always busy.
My Answer 2 :
She would have been bored at first. Not having much to do. And with a mother who needs help herself. After a while,
she must have been struck by the thought that she can't do anything worthwhile. So she starts thinking up all kinds of things just so her existence would mean something.
