My best friend is Sun Joo. We go to school together, and do things together. She was one of good classmates when I was in 2nd grade. And we met again as a classmate when we were 4th graders. I was so happy when I saw her in my new classroom. And then we became a best friend!

Dr. Hong 2010-04-28 21:08:40
Dear Lynn,
Excellent! I like to read about Sun Joo.
You know how to make a paragraph.
Through the paragraph you clearly wrote about
how you two became the best friends to each other.
But other answers are rather short though you are able to write in detail.
I hope you wirte longer next time.
Good job, Lynn.
Keep up the good work!

Dear Eddie,
I like the idea when you said, 'I can listen carefully to what my friends say.'
Listening to others is a good way to be friends.
I hate a person who never stops saying and don't listen to me.
Eddie, you seemed to be busy when you wrote this because the answers are too short.
During the weekend, will you write more about (3) question?
How will you help your friend?

What is friendship?

Friendnship means having friends.

Rocks are as hard as our friendship

Ink is as deep as between friends.

ET is as mestrious as my friend.

Nothing could prevent between us except mother.

Don't dare to block between us.

Shoes make me feel safe like my friend.

Hay is as fluffy as my friend.

I'm happy because of my friend.

Past the corner of life, you could meet  friends.

Dear Jenny,

Wow, amazing!
It's amazing to write a poem for (1) question.
I seems like you've read very many books so far.
I can see it well because you used many beautiful words.
And I'm glad you know how to write a story.
Writing is like a telling a fun story to people around you.
So the story must be fun.
Otherwise, people might get bored and don't want to pay attention.
Your wrting was very interesting.
Once I started reading, I wanted to keep reading to the end.
Good job, Jenny.
Keep up the good work!

Dear Niki,

You read very fast. A person who reads a text quickly usually means he is a good reader.
Being a good reader means you can be a good writier, too.
Next time when you write, please write more about each topic.
For example, for Sechang, you can tell us what you do with him
and how he makes you feel when he's around.
Going to school together might not be a single reason to be the best freind.
I hope to hear from you more about Sechang.

Dr. Hong 2010-04-28 20:06:20
Dear Kate,

You got all answers right.
Finding the answers from reading a book is excellent.

I have a question: Why does it work pretending not to be bothered by a bully?
What if a bully keeps saying, "Hey, Kate, you stupid girl!"?
And you act like that's nothing.
Do you think the bully will stop teasing you any more?
Why?
kate 2010-05-03 22:32:31
Yes, I think so. If I pretend not to be bother me, he will stop. Because It is not fun.

I can see it because your answers are all from the book.
Reading a book carefull is a very good way to be a good reader.
But I wanted hear about you when I asked the question (2).
You just said, 'I say hi or hello.'
Then what will you do?
Saying hello is not enough to be a very good frriend.
Can you tell me what you will do after you say hello?

Your English skills are good.
But I want to hear more abour you.
About $5, how will you play with your friends?
Tell me how you will do and how that will be good to be a friend.
This is an example:
I will watch TV with my friend.
After watching it , we can talk about it.
Then we know the same story and will talk about it again anytime.
I think good friends share good memories.
The show on TV will be a memeory to us.

I hope to hear this kind of story of yours next time.

Dear Edward,

You think sharing good foods is a way to be nice to others.
I very much agree to your idea.
When I cook special foods like dumplings (mandoo) or bean paste cakes (bindaeduk),
I share them with my neighboring friends.
When did you give a food to a friend and he felt good about it?
Or have someone given you a food and you felt happy?
Tell me more about sharing good foods.

Very good, Annie,
You know how to tell a story, which means you know how to wirte a paragraph.
Then could you wirte a few more sentences about #1?

Dear Kelly,

Hope you enjoy the book.
About #3 you said you will do nice things to your friend.
What I wanted to hear was 'what nice things are and how you do those things.'
If you just said 'nice things' I wound't know what you would do to your friend.
Will you watch TV, or will you help her when she's in trouble?
Tell me in detail and I woudl enjoy your story more.

Hello, Ben!

You have great English skills.
I can't see major errors in your writing.
I think you were very careful writing each sentence.

Finding the answers from the book is a very good way to write a story.
You did a very good job on that.
If you want to make your story more fun,
just write what you want to say without worring grammar next time.

Excellent job, Ben!

I laughed a lot after I read about your hope to have a quiet friend.
I guess you have trouble having a very noisy one now.

I like the way you read the book with your mommy.
Taking turns reading helps you feel reading is fun.

I have a question: What do you mean by 'treat being fair'?
I think you wanted to say 'I try to be fair when treating others'
If that's right, give me an example how you treat others fairly.

Hope you enjoyed your work like I did!

Hello, Murdock!
I'm amazed at your language skills.
No major grammatical errors are found.
Only it would have been better
if you had kept the present tense in the sentences about Tim.
(jumped -¤Ñ jump, played -- play)
And jumping rope is also one thing you do outside.
How about this:
'We play together outside, doing jumping rope, playing balls or sliding down the slide.'
This kind of detailed writing makes others want to read your story more.

Good job and keep up the good work!!

My best friend¡¯s English name is Geni and I go to school with her every Thursday.

I play with her by reading books or playing outside or some other things.

And I also have lunch with her together in the school cafeteria when I meet her there.

Great, Linnie!
This book might be little too easy for you.
But it makes us think a lot about 'Friends.'

You know how to write in complete sentences very well.
Since you are able to read this level of texts easily,
I suggest you try harder expressions when writing.
Instead of writing about just simple facts like "I play with her
by reading books or playing outside or some other things,"
why don't you write more specifically.
For example, "When I play with her I feel she ___________________________________________.
That 's why I like her."

I hope to see this kind of details in your next writing.
Again, I'm amazed at your beautiful job.
Keep up the good work!

Wow, Marblelin, you read very fast.
You must be a very fluent reader.
A fluent reader is a person whe reads quickly
and at the same time understands the meaning very well.
We all work hard to be a fluent reader.

I have a question:
You wrote
What was the question for this answer? Was it (5) question?
Then, why can saying 'Whatever' work to face a bully?
