When do you use emoticons? Of course, you can't use them when you're speaking offline. But when you speak to friends online, there are numerous emoticons you can choose to express your thoughts!

And for me, I use emoticons very much, yes. I think it makes people look or feel kind. To explain the reason, here is it : When you only use letters and punctuation marks in a text, it makes the speaker look hard to approach, or even angry. But with emoticons expressing your thoughts and feelings, I don't know the reason why, but it makes people look softer. I don't know it only applies to me, but I just think so.

I use emoticons when I talk to friends on twitter, my personal blog, youtube and many other social networking sites. And my reason is very similar to what I have previously explained. But I think too much of something is not that good. I mean, using emoticons are very good. But when you're sending formal messages, you should be aware of them. Think of it ; You are the professor and you receive a well written essay full with emoticons. I' almost sure you won't be delighted by that. So what I'm trying to say is, use emoticons is very good. But there are times you should use them, and not use them. Consider the consequences-
