Greetings! I¡¯m Aaditya from Champaign¡¯s group. Did you guys all have a wonderful week? We are all busy here in America, especially with hard AP classes and other activities. Hopefully you guys have more free time to have fun and enjoy yourselves! Let¡¯s get into our next book of the series.
This week¡¯s novel is called The Railway Children and it¡¯s about three children who have perfect lives. But one day, their father is taken away and the children¡¯s lives take a turn for the worst. After a long journey, the children and their mother are finally reunited with the father. What a happy ending!
The homework this week also has a total of three easy steps.
1. The first step is to read The Railway Children. Try to read it at least two times, once
out loud and once in your head.
2. Next, fill out the worksheet we posted. The worksheet has five parts. There is a
vocabulary, multiple choice, simple question, short answer, and a creativity section.
Make sure to go back to the book when finding some of the answers. The pictures
may help you remember what happened.
3. Take a picture of your worksheet and upload it.
The creative section this week asks you to write a letter that you would have written if you were in the shoes of the three children of this book. Would you be scared? Maybe you would write in an angry tone?
That completes this week¡¯s checklist. In our first short answer question we talked about family a little bit. The parents these children had were loving and cared for their kids. Remember that your own parents are doing everything they can just for you, even if it seems like they aren¡¯t sometimes. One thing that I¡¯ve learned as I grew older is that family is always first. As this week goes by, I encourage you all to keep a thankful heart towards your family. I hope you all have a great week and we will see you next time!
