3. In 1774 Priestley had an experience. Which gas was it? (P.86~87)

He put in the gas produced by the plant and a mouse. The mouse liked it so he smelled the gas to. That gas was oxygen.

4. Why is lead dangerous? (P.104)

Sixteenth-century ladies used white lead face powder to improve their complexions. They were

getting older because of the lead.

5. In fantastic facts chemists have invented for us bad news and good news, write down only two facts what you want. (P.155~157)

The sweetener that people found that was 3000 times sweeter than sugar.

Deodorant spray without causing a stink for the environment.

6. In this book people have experienced about chemicals, but sometimes it is good results or bad news. Do you think people have to keep it doing? Why or why not?

I think people need to do more experiment to make our life more convenient.

And that way Korea will be more good to live.

CHEMIST : ÈÇÐÀÚ.

POLLUETE : ¿À¿°½ÃÅ°´Ù, ´õ·´È÷´Ù

HYDROGEN : ¼ö¼Ò(±âÈ£ H)

2. Who did the idea of elements invent? Summarize about that. (P.62)

The idea of elements was invented by a bored British scientist named ¡°John Dalton¡±

When he was 12years old, he found that the water could be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen ( I know it because, I learned from the science class. It¡¯s hard. try it!)

But chemicals couldn¡¯t be broken down more further.

So he called them ¡°elements¡± and said that each side of the faces.

And later, scientists found that the Johns kind of theory(?) was right.

He became famous and they even made a statue of a John.

3. In 1774 Priestley had an experience. Which gas was it? (P.86~87)

The gas was produced by the plant. At 1783, that the gas from candle was the same gas breathed out by the mouse. The name of that chemical was ¡°carbon dioxide¡±

The one made from by the mercuric oxide- ¡°oxygen¡±

4. Why is lead dangerous? (P.104)

Because at 16th century, ladies used white lead face powder to improve their face¡¯s complexions.

But after few years, the powder used in their face turned into poison and make women face worst and gave them blood poisoning.( It¡¯ll be really painful for girls)

But ladies didn¡¯t know why their skin went more bad so they used more and more powder lead to cover their complexions one more time.

5. In fantastic facts chemists have invented for us bad news and good news, write down only two facts what you want. (P.155~157)

The new sweetener up to 3000times sweeter than sugar ( too sweat I guess like white chocolate )

It¡¯s called talin and it¡¯s made from the fruit of the West African Katemfe plant.

I want to try that thing if it¡¯s still exist and cheaper than market¡¯s chocolates.

In good ways we can eat more sweeter thing than ever.

In bad ways, we can be more fat, and be unhealthy. So we always have be in the hospital.

6. In this book people have experienced about chemicals, but sometimes it is good results or bad news. Do you think people have to keep it doing? Why or why not?

Because it¡¯s making new theory for more better life and for safety also.

It¡¯s also doing for person¡¯s honor and respect.

But I don¡¯t think that they are doing that for just honor and respect.

They want to discover more about the earth we are living.

Like we¡¯re just living in the peel at earth. Because of that the chemists want to learn more

and experiment more.

 1. Write down if you don't know some words.

- Traitor

- Hydrogen

- Chlorine

2. Who did the idea of elements ivent? Summarize about that. (p.62)

- The idea of elemetns was invented by a boring British scientist -John Dalton.

John was only 12 when he started teaching. Like most other scientists, John knew

that water could be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen. But those chemicals couldn;t be  broken down further. So he called them "elements" and said that each was a type of atom. People poked fun at Jhon. But they were soon laughing on the other side of the faces. Scientists found that their experiments proved John right. He bacame famous and now ther;s even a statue of him.

3. In 1774 priestley had an experience, which gas was it? (p.86~87)

- The gas produced by the plant. In 1783 priestley's friend Lavoisier (later to lose his head) found that the gas from the candle was the same gas breathed out by the mouse. Its name is carbon dioxide. Lavoisier called Priestley's other gas- the one made from mercuric oxide-

"oxygen".

4. Why is lead dangerous? (p.104)

- Lead is dangerous. Sixteenth- century ladies used white lead face powder to improve their complexions. After a few years the poison ruined their skin - it absorbed the lead and gave them blood poisoning. But the ladies didn't know why their skin was ruined so they used extra lead to cover up the damage!

5. In fantastic facts chemists have invented for us bad news and good news, write down only two facts what you want. (p. 155~157)

- A new sweetener that's up to 3,000 times sweeter than sugar. It's called talin and it's made from the fruit of the West African Katemfe plant.

- Crystals called zeolites in the shape of tiny sieves that separate individual atoms in a chemical. They're a compound of aluminium, silicon, water and ****ls.

6. In this book people have experienced about chemicals, but sometimes it is good results or bad news. Do you think people have to keep it doing? why or why not?

- I think people have to keep it doing, because that's what scientists do. They need to work hard on their work. Having bad news is bad but if there's a bad news to many people, it is worse! I think people should keep it doing.
