제 딸은 이 시리즈를 무척 좋아합니다.
프뢰벨 전집이 집에 있거든요. 거기에 If You Give a Pig a Pancake와 If You Give a Mouse a Cookie가
있는데
너무 좋아해서 the best mouse cookie와 이 책도 사주었지요.
[줄거리]
moose가 머핀 냄새를 맡고 다가오자 소년은 muffin하나를 던져줍니다.(실수한거지…^^)
그랬더니 함께 먹을 블랙베리잼을 달라고 하죠.
계속 더 달라고 하고 마침내 머핀이 다 떨어지자 믹스를 사와서 더 만들자고 합니다.
그래서 밖으로 나가려고 옷을 입다가 단추가 떨어진걸 보고 실과 바늘을 달라고 합니다.
그러더니 sock puffet을 만들겠다고 양말을 달라고 하
죠. 다 만든 후에는 퍼펫쇼를 하겠다면서 그림을 그리자고 합니다.
그리고 쇼파뒤에서 퍼펫쇼를 하겠다고 하다가 뿔이 소파 밖으로 뾰족하게 튀어나온 걸 보고
뿔을 감추기 위한 이불을 달라고 합니다.그리고 그 이불을 보더니 할로윈 귀신놀이를 하고 싶다네요,
그러다가 물감을 엎어버리고 그 이불로 닦죠,그러더니 빨래를 하고 싶다네요,
그리고 빨래를 널려고 밖으로 나가다가 블랙베리 덤불을 발견합니다.
그리고 되돌아와서 말하죠, “I want some muffin!!!”
모든 아이들이 그렇듯 제 아이들도 촛불불기를 좋아합니다.
그래서 책 활용 겸 해서 머핀과 쿠키를 만들어 그동안 모아두었던 생일초를 꺼내
생일축하 노래를 부르면 놀았습니다.
먹지는 않고 촛불만 신나게… 마침 집에 저울이 있어서 무게를 달아가며 만들었습니다.
[활용대화]
We’ll make some muffins today!
Look at this book.
In this book, the boy made some muffins.
But those are not enough for the moose. It wants
some more.
Why don’t we make some muffins for the boy? He is so tired. OK?
Let me check all ingredients for baking.
We need muffin mix, butter, milk, eggs, chocolate chips, mixing bowl, muffin
fan, scale, whisker.
OK, we’re ready!!
1. First, we have to Preheat oven to 180*c. and grease a muffin pan.
Sift muffin mix into a medium bowl and put it on the scale. And look!
How much does it weigh? Great! 500g!
And make a well in the center.
(저는 500g 이 한 팩으로 되 있는 mix를 주로 사용합니다.
여기서 well이란 가운데 오목하게 만들어 놓으라는 말인데 실제로 그렇게 하지는 않아요,그냥 말만…)
2. We have to mix milk100cc, 2 eggs, butter100g in a small bowl.
Let’s use a scale and measuring cup. Let’s put some butter on the scale, uhmm,,,
OK 100g!
Good! Now, mix and beat it with whisker!
( 이 장면에서 제 딸은 In the Night Kitchen에 등장하는 chant를 즐겨 노래합니다.
Milk in the batter, milk in the batter, stir it, scrape it, beat it, mix it!
Milk for the moose muffin !!?!!)
3. Pour mixture into well.
4. Mix batter just until moistened; do not overmix.(너무 많이 저으면 딱딱해집니다..)
5. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean or until muffins are
golden brown,
about 15 minutes. I already set the time, so when muffins are done, the bell
will ring!
6. Now, while we are waiting for the bell, why don’t read storybook?
이렇게 길게 차근차근 얘기할 수 있으면 좋겠지만 실제로는 그렇게 되지 않더라구요.
중간중간 엉뚱한 말들이 끼죠.
No!. don’t do that. Please, hold still! 으악…. Stop, stop!! . wait, wait!!^^)
